The holiday season is almost over (and from my perspective, I am looking foward to fewer crowds at the airports)! You may not have any immediate travel plans, but the next time you fly, you will probably be paying a fee for any bags that you check. If you take that same bag onboard with you, however, there is no fee. But there is a limit to what is allowed in the cabin, based upon size and weight of the baggage. Make sure you are aware of the rules before you pack, so you don't find yourself paying fees that you could have avoided. Check out my article on the topic; I also have included a few other pointers regarding airline baggage.

Car rentals can be one of the most inconsistently priced aspects of travel. You can easily pay much more than you need to if you don't shop around properly. For example, did you know that I have rented cars several times from well known car rental companies in both Las Vegas and Orlando, for less than ten bucks a day? Not only that, but depending upon what's going on in a particular city, you can up to a hundred dollars more per DAY on a car rental from the same car rental company (such as Fort Lauderdale during cruise ship season). Check out my article on this topic:

The next time you take a trip to Las Vegas, think twice before you commit to a rental car or a taxi cab. Depending upon the purpose of your trip, a rental car may be unnecessary, and just a waste of money. There are cheaper modes of transportation in Las Vegas, if you know where to find them. For example, the city bus will take you directly from the airport to certain points around the city, some of which are right by major casinos. And some of the casinos offer free shuttles to other casinos as well. These routes are not advertised, so you have to know how to find them. Check my Ehow article on the topic:

Have you been to Disney World lately? If you have, then you probably know that the crowds can at times be almost unbearable. Well, at least for some of the most popular rides, such as Testtrack at Epcot, or the Rockin’ Roller Coaster at Disney Studios (formerly called Disney MGM Studios). But, if your hotel happens to be one of Disney’s own, you can participate in their extended park hours. Basically, one of the 4 Disney parks either opens early, or stays open late each day, only for families who are staying at a Disney hotel. I just wrote an entire article on this, as well as other ways to decrease the time you spend waiting in line at Disney World. Here is the link:

Have you bought your airline ticket yet?
If you are travelling this Holiday season (and still have not purchased a ticket), time really is running out. On the day that I write this blog entry, there are exactly 21 days left until Christmas. That means that most airline tickets will increase tomorrow. Its all part of the "21, 14, 7 day rule". Read about it in an article I wrote recently entitled "How to get cheap airfare this Christmas":

Day One...
Welcome to my tips and travel blog. This is my absolute first entry, and I can only imagine at this point how this site will develop in the upcoming months. At this point, I have spent the last month publishing a series of travel related articles. I hope to report here any additions I create. I am also looking foward to reading the feedback of my followers. If you have any comments to suggest to me, you can do so here on my blog, or directly on my Ehow articles, as well. I just finished an article today on saving money during a cruise. I hope you find the time to check it out.
